Our role can be tailored to suit your needs, whether you require a basic set of calculations and drawings for Building Regulations submission, or full detailed construction drawings including regular site visits.

We can work alone, or as part of a design team, and have close relationships with many local Architects and designers.

If your property has been damaged by fire, flood, subsidence, storm, landslip or other serious event resulting in an insurance claims, we can help to restore your property back to its former glory. We understand how stressful it can be when your property is uninhabitable, and have vast experience working on insurance claims, with the aim of getting you back in your property with minimal stress and disturbance.

Martin Perry Associates work with leading Loss Adjusters and insurance companies as well as the general public on the diagnosis and correction of problems to properties such as subsidence, landslip, flood, fire damage and other insurance claims. Our proactive approach will ensure your property is restored as quickly as possible.

For many domestic scale projects, we are able to offer an all-inclusive service, from preparation of initial concept drawings, to preparation and submission of Planning drawings and applications, all the way through to full Building Regulations details.

Sometimes you need a structural report or appraisal in order to prove structural adequacy or to assist you in getting Planning Permission for alterations. We can provide structural reports on the load-carrying capacity of floors, the load-bearing nature of walls, suitability of foundations, and recommend any strengthening works that need to be carried out before work can progress or to ensure a property meets Building Regulations standards.

We have vast experience in the conversion of barns and other agricultural buildings, and can provide detailed reports to support your Planning Application.

We will confirm at pre-design stage whether your proposals are possible, and we can give advice on preliminary design to help with project costings, allowing contractors to more accurately price the works. We can also act as Contract Administrator and organise tenders, inspect ongoing progress and ensure the project runs smoothly.

Whether you are looking to purchase a property, are selling your home, or have noticed cracking appearing around your building, we are able to provide you with detailed reports on all aspects of construction. Our reports generally include a full description of our findings, as well as recommendations on how to proceed, which may include remedial works, or in some cases, further investigations.

We have a broad range of experience, particularly in the many historic buildings throughout the south west, which can suffer with a multitude of issues, including bulging walls, cracking, and roof spread.

As Structural Engineers and Surveyors we are able to offer Contract Administration services, in addition to provision of our design services. This role includes writing detailed specifications and schedules of works, preparation and issuing tender packages, analysing tender returns, and overseeing the works once a contractor has been appointed.

This role usually includes making regular visits to site and dealing with any issues that may arise, to help your project to be completed on time, and in budget.

We have a broad bank of Approved Contractors that we have successfully worked with in the past, covering all of south west England, and further afield.

As expert Party Wall Surveyors, we can help you to successfully negotiate any Party Wall matter affecting your property. A ‘Party Wall’ is any structure on the boundary between two properties. When you want to carry out any building work on or near this boundary, you need to inform any neighbours whose properties might be affected. These neighbours, the ‘Adjoining Owners’, can’t prevent you from carrying out this work, but they can impact how and when the work is carried out under the Party Wall etc Act 1996.
